What this service is

Ann Arbor Mold Experts is a referral service. It passes your request to independent mold inspection, testing and remediation companies that serve your area. It is not a mold company or a contractor, and it does not inspect, test, remove, remediate or rebuild anything. The site holds no license or certification, and the word "Experts" in its name is part of the name, not a claim of credentials.

Free, with no obligation

Requesting quotes is free. You are never obligated to hire any company that contacts you. Companies may pay Ann Arbor Mold Experts for each request they receive. The site does not rank or endorse companies.

The companies are independent

Companies that contact you are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Ann Arbor Mold Experts. Any contract for work is between you and the company you choose. The site does not verify licenses, insurance or workmanship and cannot promise that any company is licensed. Before you hire:

• Michigan doesn't license mold remediation companies, and the state health department doesn't certify mold remediators or testers. Repair and rebuild work of $600 or more, such as replacing drywall or insulation, generally needs a Residential Builder or Maintenance & Alteration license from LARA (MCL 339.2401–2404). Ask for the license number and verify it with LARA.
• Get a written scope and contract that covers containment, removal, drying, any clearance check and any rebuild.
• Ask for proof of insurance.
• If you sign a contract at your home, you generally have 3 business days to cancel it (MCL 445.111–.113). Be cautious about signing an "emergency" waiver of that right under pressure.
• Michigan's Consumer Protection Act (MCL 445.903) bans misleading claims in trade. Complaints about a business can go to the Michigan Attorney General.

Limitation of liability

The site is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, Ann Arbor Mold Experts and its owner are not liable for the work, prices, advice, conduct, licensing or insurance of any company you contact through the site, or for any loss that results from using the site or relying on its information. Your remedies for a company's work are with that company.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.

Changes

These terms may be updated, and the date at the top will change when they are. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
